About Tamila


Tamila Viola - classicaly trained passionate viola player 


Tamila Umarkhanova is a talented viola and violin player originally from Kazakhstan, based in Chicago, IL.

Born in 1992, Tamila started her musical education at the Moscow Music School named after Shostakovich in Moscow, Russia. She then moved back to Kazakhstan with her family and graduated from the Tchaikovsky Almaty Music College and the Kazakh National Conservatory.

Throughout her artistic career, Tamila has performed on numerous concert stages across the globe, including the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Mariinsky Theatre in Saint-Petersburg, Great Hall of Kazakh National Philharmony in Almaty, Great Hall of Kazakh National Conservatory, RNCM in the UK, Basel in Switzerland, Dhaka in Bangladesh, as well as in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Montana and Chicago in the USA. 

She has extensive experience as both a soloist and chamber musician.

Tamila's classical training provided a strong foundation 

for her own musical path, which she started after moving to the US in 2018. 

As a fully booked musician at weddings and events, she brings a unique blend of traditional and modern music to her performances. 

Tamila loves to improvise and capture the moment of life in her music, infusing popular songs with her own improvisations and personal style. 


Her music is born at the crossroads of traditional classical music and modern sounds, making it a unique listening experience for anyone who enjoys beautiful melodies and innovative musical expression.
